Sleepy Time Rituals

This is not so much of a product review as it is a description of my nightly ritual for a good nights sleep. For those precious few that are able to find a nice, deep, peaceful sleep, this post won't really apply (unless you <3 lavender as much as I do), but for the rest of us, I think this has some lovely items that really can help you get into sleep mode!

Of course I do not have time to do this every night, but when I do, I always try to brew a nice cup of calming or sleep inducing tea. There are two brands that I particularly like, with my ultimate favorite being Yogi Bedtime Tea.  It tastes a lot like a kind my mother used to make for me when I was little, also a family favorite, Celestial Seasoning's Sleepytime Tea.

Another tea, for those of us who like the taste of chamomile is Traditional Medicinal's Organic Chamomile with Lavender, which has a much stronger flavor, but its quite delicious as well!

Once I have brewed the perfect cup of tea, I love crawling into bed, but not before I spray my sheets with a lavender scented spray like Peace Valley Lavender Farm's Lavender Sheet and Pillow Spray, which makes getting into bed just that much more enjoyable and peaceful.

While of course none of these are medical treatments for insomnia or lack of sleep, they are well known to help promote restful sleep, and developing a healthy and stable sleep routine can increase the quality of sleep you get every night. At the very least, you will have delicious drink and a lovely smelling bed :)

Alterna Kendi Bamboo Treatment Oil

First off, there is a website I have discovered that has the MOST AMAZING COLLECTION of luxury hair products, from shampoos and conditioners, to tools and headbands, Lock and Mane has it all. They also have a great blog that reviews many of their popular products. They even have adorable gift sets that are perfect for the holiday season (my personal favorite is the Locks of Shame gift kit- once day you will need it, and its too cute to ignore!)! And for the Gossip Girl fans out there, she knows you'll love The Blaire Waldorf gift set (or at least knows you SHOULD)!

But enough of that, I want to tell you all about a fantastic product I ordered from Lock and Mane. It is Alterna's Kendi Bamboo Treatment Oil. I have been using this on wet hair right before I blow dry it, and my hair has never felt silkier! It smells incredible, and makes hair easier to comb through and protects from any heat damage we all know we do to our hair (some of us daily...)!

Make sure you don't use to much, just like any oil or serum, too much can make hair oily, but unlike most, I have yet to experience that!

In short, I highly recommend this to anyone else who is a serious serum and oil treatment addict, as this delicious little number is a 2-in-1!

A Skin Miracle: Pure Hyaluronic Acid

So, I have posted before about my skin issues and how I continue to search for the perfect skin care system that will rid me of redness, and most importantly, zits that make me feel like I am 14. Although the search does continue, I have found one product that so far has been making a big difference in the appearance and texture of my skin! This little gem is known as Pure Hyaluronic Acid!

I have been using it for over a month now, and frankly, I was a little nervous that a gel that almost instantly absorbs into skin would actually be moisturizing enough for my dry spots, but it is! If i find that I am still a little dry around my nose (it is winter after all!), I just put a little normal lotion there.

I can tell a HUGE difference in the clarity in my skin! Of course I have had a few zits every here and then, but they appear to be much smaller, less painful, and they go away so much quicker! This gel, although known for is moisturizing properties, is also known to be an excellent healer, and I have begun to see a dramatic difference in the appearance of over scars left behind by blemishes.

In short, I highly recommend this product for anyone she oily, acne prone skin. To be fair, my skin has never been terrible, and the only major problem I had was breakouts on my chin, but it bothered me a lot. This gel is a bit on the pricey side, but it lasts a good long time.

AND I AM BACK!!

Ok, so I know I have said this before, but this time I actually mean it.

I thought about deleting this blog, and re-launching with a new name and a new look, but alas, I figured I can make this blog do what I want it to, which is basically write about new products I find and like (I buy and use way too many to not share my thoughts with everyone!), decorating ideas, and other thoughts and ideas that come to mind.
